New patients receive a comprehensive dilated eye examination that normally requires an hour in the clinic. Patients are encouraged to bring any old glasses they have worn. If the patient wears contact lenses they should wear them to the appointment. A comprehensive medical history is recorded during your examination. If you take any medications please bring an updated medication list with you along with a list of surgical procedures and diagnosis.

We provide darkened eye shades to all patients so normally a driver is not required. However, if it is the first time to have your eyes dilated, or if you have had trouble with dilation in the past we recommend someone drive you.

All children should have a dilated exam prior to starting kindergarten. If they are new to the clinic they will have both color and stereo vision tested. If it is determined you need glasses all of our locations have on-site optical shops for your convenience.
